Brake rotor suggestions?

I need new brakes on my e36 m3. The pads are worn and the rotors are shot. It seems like bavauto has some pretty good prices on rotors, but i was wondering if anyone has any experience with drilled rotors vs slotted rotors or drilled and slotted? From what iv read, slotted rotors are the best, but they wear out your brakes faster creating much more brake dust. Anyone have problems with this? Also, are these upgrade rotors that much better then plain stock? thanks

I've been told that drilled rotors have a tendancy to crack. I just don't understand that if this was the case, why do most performance manufacturers give their cars drilled rotors?

I've also been told that slotted rotors are something to go for. The extra slots give more of an opportunity for heat to escape. Why would these lower the life of your pads?

crossdrilled and slotted are for venting gases which form from heated pad material and material binders. (Friction creates heat). I have had both, and if I were to go back to either, I would use slotted. For street use, its bling with a higher wear rate. Not worth it if for street use, im my opinion. I don't track or auto-x, so I'm back to blanks.
