Lighting
Sponsored by: BavToys.com Discussion of headlights, fog lights, blinkers, and any other car lighting.
I recently purchased a 1993 325 is, my first BMW.
I got the engine compartment wet.
I now do not have rear brake lights. I checked the #46 fuse and it is fine.
I have not checked the brake pedal switch and the grounding on the circuit , that is my next step
I have a MID display code saying check brake circuit.
Can anyone provide clues ?
I do not have an owners manual ?
Does anyone know where I can obtain an online owners manual and a
troubleshooting guide for the MID codes ?
I noticed someone else had the same problem . Did the grounding or the switch take care of the other person's problem ??
Anyone experience this problem before and can offer advice on what it could be?
Could the brake fliud level sensor getting damp cause such an error code ?
..
Any help in solving this problem is greatly appreciated .

In my Bently manual, under electrical component location it says: fuse 46 15a-Brake lights, Multifunction clock (see also fuses 23,27,31,45).
You should check if you have power at brake LIGHTS using a 12v test light, then check for power at the brake pedal switch, also check those other fuses. What the heck check all the fuses!!! Using your 12volt test light!!!!
