Red/Clear tails
Has anybody seen Red/Clear tails that are almost all red? I really like the look of having red instead of amber. I'd like to buy a set but the only ones I have seen are "custom" made with red tint spray I think but they really don't match up well. Anyone know where to get them?

Yeah. Well, from what I have seen, it never seems to match up that well so I don't know if iI should do it. I just want something different or I am going to go for the black on Cashmere Beige theme.

what about the lights that are white instead of amber?
Those look good.
i know u can get spray that matches the red tail light color. Check your autoparts store. It should be an exact match. If not spray them all the same color?

i was told that it would cover the amber color. I guess the only way to find out is trying it. I know its a popuar mod for E30's, since the amber is on teh end..and all red ails on E30=hawt.

A good idea. I'm thinking about modding my tail lights. I've seen some Euro style tail lenses with red bottoms/clear tops. I'm not sure about them though. Maybe I'll go all red, or even a dark tint. Best photoshop it and see what it looks like first. I think you can get some good results with spray if you take your time with it.

I think I will ask my gf to photoshop it for me. I just figure why not try out the all red tails then if I mess up just tint it , heh.

Damn, I just drove down the street to OSH and they don't have it so it looks like I will be heading to my local hobby shop (RC Tech) tomorrow.

It depends on the color of the car too. I have a black e36 and I put smoke tail lights on and it looks great. The red part stays the same but the amber is replaced with clear and the entire thing has a smoke glaze to it. It really matches well. You can get the smoke lights from numerous places including ebay

Ok so I did it and I am very pleased with the results. It came out exactly how I wanted it to so here are some pics.
Before
After
Close up
I didn't bother to make a diy out of it since my iPhone doesn't take the best pictures and the link posted above provided enough help for anyone who would want to do this.

Looks good, my only suggestion would be to mask off the white light and black trim, then paint the red part of the light as so that you dont have two different shades of red.
Keep the white part you have white but paint over all orang and red to match up the color better. You may have already done this and its flash glare deceiving me but your ambers/red out looks a bit darker.

I have no clue why people black their tail lights out, I just did it because I see it done almost all the time.
I have no clue who or what Tiestos is, sorry.
So does any one else like it as much as I do? It wouldn't bother me to hear any critics out there.
