E39 High Beam Fault
My 1997 e39 535i has a constant power feed to the right hand side high beam bulb. Even with the key out the right hand bulb stays on. Is this controlled by an ECU or relay, and where would i find them.
Moved to lighting for better exposure :)
E39 High Beam Issue
The problem you have is associated with the Lighting Control Module. On a right hand car the module can be found behind the kick panel on the lower right hand "A" Post. It might be in the same location on a left hand drive car. The High Power Switching FETS have failed and they are located on the PCB inside the lighting module. It will be very expensive to replace the module at approx £250 or US$500. Replacing the FETS is much cheaper and is a specialised job because the FETS are soldered onto the PCB, I have successfully repaired 2 cars with this fault.
