E39 headlights

can anyone please tell me if 2000 model E39 headlights can fit straight into a 1997 model without modifications

yeah they should. I don't think BMW changed the headlights during their production run like they did with the 3 series (facelift).

01 cars - 03 cars had the ugly amber side markers.
but nice lights.
