Illinois fiscal officers look beyond party lines
In some ways, Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka and Treasurer Dan Rutherford are caught in the middle.The only Republicans in Illinois' new line-up of statewide officials, the pair support their party's calls for more fiscal discipline.
