I knew I'd beat the car, but I beat the man too!
 

So here's the thing: Are you always racing the car? Or racing the driver? :dunno

I'm sitting on Hooksett Road at the red light (two lanes leading up to a 50 MPH zone and it's dead straight and flat for a good mile) and this kid pulls up next to me in a 2002-2003? Civic. I know, I know.. it doesnt seem like much of a "kill" does it? Well he's got a really nice Civ.. (if that's not an oxymoron) with all kinds of stickers sitting neatly on his side skirts. I see AEM, NOS, Brembo, VTEC, and spoon... yes.. spoon on the side. I didnt even know spoon made an engine for that year Civ... anyways... I'm thinking, "Nice whip, but it's still a Civ." :laugh

So the kid look like he's 17, 18 years old and he's doing the, "Yo, I wish I was Dr Dre" lean in the seat ant he's got his beats blaring and the bass is vibrating MY rear-view mirror. He starts to rev his engine and is staring right at me. I literally laughed and just looked straight ahead and blew him off. Then he revs it higher and higher and hes staring and staring. So at this point, I just want to shut him up. :redspotda

I put the tranny into D3, turn the traction control off, and punch it when the light goes green. he gets a little lead through first gear... a shorter lead when I hit second and I hit third and FLEW past him. I'd say he was probably 200 feet behind me about three seconds after I hit third. :woot

So about a mile down the road, at the next light, Mr Dre rolls down his window and says, "Yo, you GOT TO have at least 300 horses in that thing!" My response?.....

"Yo, you GOT TO get a Type R sticker for that thing, you'll go faster.":drive2

He was basically yelling at me and giving me the finger when I sped off at that light... :ranting

I beat the car, but more importantly... I beat the man.... :worship

The samething happened to me. I was at the light with a kid, maybe 18 and his buddy. They had the 3 door civic. Revving his engine with a coffee can muffler. I ignored them and they sped off. I come up to them at the next light and he rolls down his window and asks me how much HP that I have and I laughed at him. I tell him that I will show him, turn off the DSC. As soon as the light turns green, I leave him in the dust with screeching tires and holding his nutsack :). I only took it to the top end of 2nd gear and he was a blip in my rearview mirror. I slow down and they speed past me, flipping me off. I couldn't help myself, I had to do it and proove a point.
