In the larger sense a Vet is some one who wore a uniform during a War. Like Vietnam or Korea or the Gulf conflicts.
A 'Vette is an undersized people space with a big motor.
I don't seem to fit comfortably in one without amputation
It could be quite easy to stall out a big motor going from full throttle to shut and back open again. There could be a hell of a rich transition in there to "flood" it momentarily.
Some of my little toys in the days of yore would do that. Had a hemi stuffed into a '57 Plymouth ragtop that would do that. Coming down from a "Smoke Show" it would have so much gas backed up in the incoming charge that it couldn't burn and would snuff out the plugs if you closed and opened too fast. And that was an Automatic!!
Looked exactly like this
