BMW 328i vs. VW 20th Anniv. GTi - United Bimmer Community

So me and a friend head out on a long straight road out by the dumps to race.
First we race from a 20mph roll. I chirp a little, he doesn't much and by the end of second he had about 2 cl's on me, we take it up to about 100mph and stop. Turn around and head the other way, now we take off from a 25mph roll, pretty much same thing.

Last race was from a dig. I launch from about 4k, I get the leap on him and i hear his tires spin (hehe, fwd). I'm about half a cl up until the end of second till he pulls and we take that to about 110 and he is about 2 cl ahead.

At the time he had his software turned off, then he turned it back on and was running about 20psi and we had a freeway run and completely dusted me, he got up to about 128mph.

Me: Stock, 5-speed
Him: Intake, Software, BOV, 6-speed.

Then he let me drive his car and vice versa, I must say, turbo is the shit.

yeah I'm not supprised you he had you. as much as don't care for VW's, those GTI 1.8t/VR6's are fast. sounds like a good race.

aren't those VW clutches light? I'm much better off in my bimmer.

With software and his other mods dyno chart said 225hp at the wheels. (I raced him without his software on.) After driving his car I really want a SSK.

ahh, not bad for completely stock.. and how can he turn his software off, you NEED software to run the engine.. dont you?

He has a small Injector that is plugged through the cruise control and he can adjust it accordingly. I shouldve sayed switched.

the GTI 337's (20th anniversary) are all 1.8t 6-speeds.

ya...pssh...damn those pos VWs...they still dont have wood grain...so BMW is better...

i like how everyone hates on VW...though MKI, MKII and MKIV, kick fucking arse...the 337 is too trendy right now for me...but his motor, my car, all stock....high 12's low 13's....hmmmm.....ideas....hmmmm, but then again drag racing a FWD car is like...retarded...ok, im just rambling now...yup.... btw
