Killed Yet another civic - Page 2 - United Bimmer Community

My friend Jesse has a 2000 Civic with a t3/t4 turbo running on on 17psi and a 100shot of NOS and he just broke into the 11s for the first time. Getting 10 second cars and lower is not an easy thing to do. But to say there are TONS OF them out there is an over statement imo. Most of them that do run this, spend years in development and are strcitly race cars. Having 10 second street cars and drag cars isn't a real common thing around here. Maybe where you're from it is, but I find that somewhat hard to believe... who knows I might be niave (sp)

10 second imports are far fewer than 10 second domestics, but they are out there. Notice when I scaled down the area geographically to talk about Charlotte, the "countless" went to "several". There are TONS out there on the road, on back of trailers, etc, but there are only several in his area. I have run into a couple, not in the Rover of course, and been QUITE surprised.

Point I was trying to make: Not all the "ricer civics" out there should be scoffed at.

Oh I agree totally, but it's still fun to scoff at them when you see a Type R Badge :P The way I look at a ricer is this: I could care less if his car is faster then mine, chicks still dig da German rides more :P

Not only that but even IF the guy that I raced and destroyed had a 10s car. At the end of the day, he's still driving a honda...

Yes it is a typical bimmer driver :o And most of us will never change.. because lets face it, a honda is inferior to a bmw on a stock basis. But then there is the price difference to offset the stock performance, style, and more. If you're just comparing cars, a bimmer is a nicer car. But to a driver, there are million's of different factor's that go into deciding on a car oh which, I'd guess 90% of people look at price before anything else. Do you think anyone would buy a honda if it was the same price as a bimmer new? There would be those die-hard honda people, but the majority of them would not. Why? Because BMW puts out a more quality product.

However, I'm seeing brand new honda's selling close to 35k-40k loaded. So the difference in price is closing but in luxury and performance and style is not.

I see your point, of course, but if I posted a thread boasting of a kill then fell back on "at the end of the day, it's still a Honda" when confronted with the fact that those puppies can be made quite fast, can you not see the the hypocracy there?\

Honestly, just once, I'd like to see a "Got raped by a Honda" thread, but I doubt pride will let that happen.

Playing both sides is only OK if you're a bi-female that my wife brought home.

I agree with you about it.

I'll post it. I got beat by a CRX B16 Turbo the other day. Car was gutted and was race ready. From a 40mph 2g gear roll, he beat me, but I was catching him around 130. However, I still lost! I give the driver props for putting that much HP into that car. Gave a friendly wave and drove off. So am I the first one on here to admit I got owned by a honda?

Sounds like it, where I live, I can't race cars, too many cops, I need to drive down to I-95 at night or something.
