Yesterday taking the long way home from work, I happen across this 01 or 02 eclipse GT. Im in the right lane and he is in the left lane and we get to a red light. I notice he has one of those single tip 4" mufflers- disgusting, i know. The light turns green and I "spiritedly launch". Not a full blown race launch but just enough to entice. I hear him floor his car and as soon as i heard I floored mine. At that point we were basically even. As we are going now I am gradually increasing the lead and he shifts to 3rd. I kept in 2nd all the way to 6500RPM at which point I had a good lead on him. Once in 3rd I kept pulling on him. Needless to say I gave him a great view of my rear diffuser. The race ends when we reach another light now with alot of traffic. WE end up next to each other and he remarks that he wasn't trying.. I just laughed and asked if he liked my newly installed rear diffuser because you got a better look at it than I did...
Edit: What are the numbers on the GT eclipse? I thought they were around 200HP..
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.

My cosin (17 years old) had a 2001 Eclipse GT auto. He sold it for a manual S4. All I half to say is he wasnt trying. His best friend drives a 2000 323ci with exhaust etc. The eclipse had cold air and a can and the eclipse was slower to 30 before it would slowly walk the 323. If that was a manual eclipse he wasnt trying, they are muuuuch faster. They have 1 more gear and are so much faster then the auto eclipses it isnt funny. He sold his for a manual one then backed out and went german. A manual eclipse vs. a 325ci isnt a good race past 60, but props on your good driving... my guess is that he was a sucky driver(like most eclipse drivers) and thats why you walked his ass.
stats
2001 eclipse GT's are 200 hp
0-60 in 6.8 seconds ... if you drive it right and have rubber

6.8? I am guessing the 325 that E36bimmer has is faster than that, considering all the mods he has. I think the guy in the eclipse was trying, and was just being a dick by saying that he wasn't.
A 323 would be considerably slower than mine.. It was a close race tho. When we were both in WOT I was barely creeping on him. Then he shifted and I kept on it. Thats where I won the race. I heard his car tho, he was definitely pushing it. My numbers I would think would be close to those, plus mine looks better
Nope. 4g64 Mitsu motor. The "neon motor" is in the 420a powered 95-99 non-turbos.
the same engine as the Stratus RT correct? 3.0 mitsu V6 with 200 hp

its the same displacement with very little difference...like 19 or 20 hp difference due to tuning and single exhaust... how is that considerably slower? just curious

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

They are pretty quick and are fat pigs for two door hatches (3200). The 323ci isnt much slower then the 325i but his is auto and auto 323's have different transmission and they lag alot, but his exhaust is full dual UUC so the power is about the same. I imagine a manual 325i could pull away from an Eclipse GT V6 (he was probably a ricer who didnt know how to drive) but they are semi quick and pull real hard with good rubber and a good driver.
Manual 325i 4 doors are 7 seconds to 60
Coupes are around 6.8 ish (est.)
Your 325ci should walk it real bad down low but then loose ground up top.
