Rear Ended
On the 1st day I got my permit, I went out with my dad in my E30 convertible. We were all the way in in the right lane and needed to get over one lane to the left to avoid getting onto the highway. There were tons of cars in the next lane over and I couldn't change lanes so I slowed down with my signal director on and SCREEEECH BANG!!!! Some drunk woman in a ford explorer slamed into me from behind. Heres the cool part: Her car was pretty much destroyed from the left headlight to the windshield and my car was just badly dented with a blown out tail light. If i wasn't scared out of my mind I wouldve been laughing my ass off. Everything is like new now there was no major damage to my car.

I always cringe when I read about this on an E28 and E30 because I am sure that I am going to see another classic lost to insurance total. You got lucky bro. Congrats on the ride and drive safe.

I think its only a classic to us nerd enthusiasts. The general public thinks its a dated BMW shaped like a box. The general public is retarded.

I think after 15 years yuo can set your insurance up as a classic vehicle. Orso i read on here somewhere.
its funny you say that because I get a lot of good responses from the general public for my car. they think its like a 95

Happy you and the e30 are alright, at some point the price of a good e30 might start to increase as they become harder to find, the e30 m3 is a collectors car and I could be convinced that it would be something that could be an investment.

+1 on E30 M3. Already hard to find, usually well maintained by an enthusiast.

This might be a stupid question but what does +1 mean?

+1 = Agreeing to the quote you have listed. An easy way to say that whatever you have quoted you couldnt have said better yourself. Then you can add any additional input that you have.

that car is sad proof that some people still don't appreciate the e30 M3s
the owner of the car is a mechanic at a BMW dealer about 30 miles away
I see him regularly on the roads
some time ago I saw his car parked at the dealership employee lot, and I had a look at it. It's the worst maintained M3 I've seen yet. The car inside is littered with trash and tons of cigarette buds, there's ash in every corner, dash is cracked, the leather seats are torn.. the outside looks about as bad
the passenger side mirror has no glass in it, the exhaust is rusty...
everytime I see this guy I want to punch him in the face

Thats the way the general public feels about my cougar, or my old SVO mustang. Both are becoming rare, especially well maintained ones. Glad you and the car are ok buddy.

I think that she may need rescued

Not that I promote stealing a car. Especially an e30 m3...
But seriously you should take her from him.

denyo, from what i understand about Europeans is that they dont appreciate older cars as much as we do. to them an old car is just that, an old car.
although, you would think that the original M3 would be the exception to the rule. . .
ok, steal it please.
