so last night was with a couple buds headed out to get some rub at a local restaurant. Ones got a 2007 350z with 4k miles and an exhaust setup(not nismo, just coffee cans). Thing sounds like a beast. So were cruising on the freeway and we do a couple pulls from 70 in third. Mind you my 330's an automatic.
he didnt pull all that much on me. pretty even till 95. which...what the hell? Hes telling me he didnt WOT but hes shit was screaming. might have to do that one again.
Then we had dinner and me and the 2001 Z3 did a drag of sorts. only to sixty, cause well i dont want to die. plus it just started it raining. heh..so 60 was max.
hes got a 5 speed. roads were startin to get slick, but we both have the same DSC system. Pull on him all the way through first and second i had a car and a half on him. heh.
well either way..guess m 330 isnt all that slow.

^Its slow , I think you have to anticipate with them though and it can be okay. I really want to drive a 350Z I hear a lot of good things, but I think i would take a 330ci over the other options.
I read that 03 and up had a different transmission. something abut GM making the 03 and prior transmissions.
as far as shifting in a straight line from a take off its quick. Downshifting for twisties doesnt have to much lagg. For example if i go from 5th to 2nd it doesnt take more then a second after i pull the gear shift down 3 times quickly.
if i am up shifting though it will lagg a little. but not for downshifting.
btw i have driven the z. as mullet said..straight track car feeling.
