Hi Everybody,
My name is Cabe I'm eighteen from RI, I'm going to URI for Landscape Architecture and I've been working all summer in Jamestown to afford a new car and I finally traded up my old 93' civic for a beautiful red AWD 5-speed BMW with a 2.5 liter I6 I could not be happier. Well I guess I jumped the gun a 2006 M6 would be great but for 2,000 I have enough money left to make this thing fly. My plans for it now (I havn't thought them very well through yet so I'm sure they'll change) Is to fix the shifter as it's loose now and will move about an inch to each side when in gear. I think a replacement with a shorter shifter from a Z3 should fix that what do you guys think. After that I'm going to replace the suspension as with 127,500 miles it's seen better days. I'm curious if anyone has opinions on this as I'm only looking to spend about 1,500 dollars and want something adjustable so I can use it on the track and do a bit of rallying. After that I'm gonna replace the front and rear bumper as they have rusted and the front fenders as they're starting to rust do you know of any company that makes good replacement panels for my E30 I'm looking to spend about 1,000 or 1,200 total on the body kit, once that's done I'll paint it and be happy with it for the rest of the summer, more work next year when I have more money. So to conclude my long rant on my new car I'd like to thank you guys and say how cool it is to have this forum, you can definitly tell how special BMW's are when you see the dedication of their owners.

Peace for now,
Cabe.

P.S. I put Pictures of my car as attachments i'm not sure if thats right or what not so if the pictures don't show tell me and i'll put em up somehow.

Cool car, good to see another e30. In regards to the shifter I hear good things about a z3 swap, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Suspension you might want to look into some koni sport adjustables, I have them and they are great, also might want to check out Bilstein for springs H&R make some good ones you would probably want the sport or race springs both will give it some drop (race, gives even more) or Ireland Engineering stage 3 springs.

The fenders i'm not sure what to tell you see if you can find any in a junkyard and they sometimes show up on e30tech.com in the classifieds.

Welcome to Ub.c and to the red e30 club

I wish i had rear windows that vented out.

there is a red e30 club? ha ha

welcome!!

for the bumpers you might want to look in a junkyard for those, they run about 150-200$$, and buy an IS lip for your valence, nick has one on his car for reference..

that is a really cool car, and dont hesitate to ask any questions in the E30 section!!!

welcome again
