get an internship in a bit, and then buy a used bmw...my first one was a '89 735il in my junior year...it was old but man it was awesome. Also because of the big roomy engine compartment I got to work on it as well... Ms are expensive and I would recommend buying a different car till you learn how to drive properly (high performance driving). right now I have a '01 530i which is an improvement over the 735il, however, I still have not learned how to manage the 240 something horses that pull it ... so untill then I am not getting a M or upgrading any performance parts < cold air intakes, superchargers, turbos, etc.
Its always a good idea to upgrade suspension and brakes once you find out what true brake fade is, and how lousy stock suspensions can be. Then you upgrade and realize how big of a difference those new upgrades really make...
.. just my $0.02 :D
