First Time BMW owner - 93 325is

Hello All!

Just bought my first BMW last week, a 93 325is.

She drives like a dream, but it has a couple of the standard gremlins that I've been reading about on here. Rear light bulb notices - both brake and tail. I'm working those through based on many, many previous posts.

I've been working on cars for many many years and enjoy it.
Glad to be here.
Thanks

Welcome to United Bimmer. Very clean looking car.

Have you replaced the brake light bulb sockets? Happened with my car, and i replaced both of them ($17 at dealer) and it fixed the problem. They wear out after a while.

Thank you. It is VERY clean - very stock, which I like. The PO took really good care of her. Wife made him sell it for an SUV (baby #2 on the way).
I replaced the aftermarket radio with a much cleaner looking unit.
Cleaned up the rear lights, the headlights need to be polished, and the clutch cruise switch adjusted and I think I'll be good to go - for now! :evil

There is a clunk in the rear that I will I be investigating in the near future. 90% prob that its suspension. But its going to have to wait a bit. (already tightened the spare and such to rule that out)

UB has been very helpful!
Thanks!

Brian

Ha, I know that feeling. My wife has been trying to get me to sell mine since before my daughter was born. I'm still holding out :).

If you want , BavToys sells Depo ZKW and Hella glass replacement headlights. Their identical to the ones that are OEM in Europe. They start at $179-200. Beats polishing the plastic, but get the film protector to avoid chops and stuff. A guy in our local club has a set and they look really good.

I'd get that clunk looked at. It could be a rear shock mount as they wear out over time. If the bushings fail you risk snapping your shock, or worse yet, blowing out the shock tower.
