Welcome to United Bimmer!

What do you mean "shell"? Just the body? Check your local classifieds as parts cars come up for sale all the time.

i found a wrecked E36 M3 and its has just had engine rebuilt and everything up to date before the wreck, i wanted to swap its powertrain out to another M3 that didnt have a engine&trans, interior and if at worst rear end is missing. i just really need the body and front end ther cause the one i found the RF part of the body is shit, and itd be cheaper to just swap everything

How wrecked is the M3? The chassis and power train are what make an M3 an M3. The body can be taken from any car. Odds of finding an M3 without the power train but the body in good shape is quite slim. You would be better off to find a good condition E36 and do an engine swap.

Yes it would. I know a guy with an E30 M3 that has an S54 swapped in.

Depending on the damage, it would be cheaper to fix the M3. Providing their is no structural damage. Can you post pics? Non M body panels and several other components will fit. The suspension is different though.

$3,000? I would buy that. It's easily fixable. Parting it out would net you a profit, or fixing it should be about $1500-2000 maybe. The drivetrain alone would fetch $2,000+. Those DSII rims are worth a good chunk of change. Reps go for $500 where I live.

If it was me: I would buy it and fix it up. I would get all the paperwork for the engine work though. That's a lot of work into that engine and it should be running great. Even in worst case, and te frame is bent, parting it out would net you all your money back. It just takes time.
