Where is the oil coming from? How fast of a leak?

If you can't tell, get some engine degreaser , take it up and start scrubbing. Only way to tell where a leak is coming from is to clean everything off and watch it.

it was only dripping out the side so took it into the garage, they changed the rocket gasket cover i brought it home and it was poring out when i drove it.

It comes out the side and drips onto the tray.

Sorry about my descriptions but i have not got a clue with cars

Are you able to post pictures? That would help a lot. Define "gushing"?

not at the minute, its still in the garage.

the oil doesnt leak when the engine is running its when you drive the car and go around corners

This is very odd. What year and model is the car?

ang 03-03-2012 05:13 PM

its a 316 compact 54 plate........ the bmw garage said they have never encountered the problem before as well?????????

so the keep changing parts and hoping its that
