Hello
1st time 92 model BMW E36 325i auto owner. Love the car, just not its problems. Whenever 3rd gear engages there's a loud thunk from the rear. Any ideas?
Welcome To United Bimmer. It might be one of several issues, but I would check the differential and the driveshaft first. The Guibo on the driveshaft may be worn out. If the differential fluid has never been changed now may be the best time.
