Hello to all, I'm Kenny with my 1st Bimmer a (1993 320 i Auto Coupe) a nice car a real looker,....BUT.....Being new and
inexperienced, may I ask some advice. Car was going fine until TWO WEEKS ago.
I had been running the car with the ORANGE fuel light on and ran out of fuel just the once. Left the car for a few days and went to start, Car started fine then after 2 mins, it intermittenly Coughed and Spluttered to a halt

CHECKED : BATTERY...FUSES.....PETROL......all good

Can here FUEL PUMP NOISE OK when turning car over, No engine Management
Lights faults. On Dash there is SMALL BLOCKS(think for service of car?)

NB..Trying to keep foot on accellerator GRAY SMOKE came from Exhaust>>>

Just wanted to know what you guys think?

PS...ANYONE ON HERE FROM SCOTLAND ESPECIALLY FROM THE GREENOCK/GLASGOW AREA?

Welcome to United Bimmer! Have you tried turning the ignition on but not starting the car and leaving it like that for about 15 seconds? This allows the car to pump the fuel back through the lines. I had to do this when I changed my fuel filter.

Some people say oil in the spark plugs is normal but I'm not really sure about that. It normally means that your valve cover gasket is leaking. It's not that hard to replace. Much easier then a head gasket. Pelican Parts should carry them.
