Hello just picked up my second BMW today. E39 540ia came across it by accident . March of last year 2011 I finished a five year 200k stint with a 2000. 740il . Was a nice run but a full suspension and other maintenance + clearcoat calculated a early end .
With new less desirable shapes & styles too me. I briefly considered switching to A8l . While saving , had to get my girlfriend a car found a used car dealer that sold inexpensive vehicles. Found her a decent 2000 hyndai, while closing out that deal notice he had 540ia in rear of alot working on window regulator. Not really interested scince I had e38 already. Meanwhile driving a 1990 gmc 1500 pu & 98. Honda civic. Truck v8 sucking up fuel Honda smallest car ever owned, couldn't take being forced to drive the right lane of (95) when I used to hold traffic @ bay with a BMW.
Scince second car he practically gave it to me. It's a little small but. Im back.
Thx for reading this winded intro.
Qmetro.

First BMW

Hi all and thanks for welcome from Scooter.

Purchased my first BMW 1997 523i E39 some 6 months ago and am gradually finding and working through fixing various problems. Find the drive experience excellent in this car.

Live in Melbourne Australia. Also drive 1976 450SE Mercedes

Information available on this forum is worth a lifetime of experience,
so to all who share their knowledge and experience many thanks.

cheers Nosnitap
