Hello everyone

Hi there , a friend of mine just got this 87 325E . The instrument panel lens has been painted to cover the warning lights . It has been used and abused and it cranks over but won't start . I browsed the site here and I am really leaning to flywheel , but I really want to make sure before going there . Any pictures of what the TDC marker looks like would be great . I have looked in the hole where the sensors mount up on the bell-housing , turned the crankshaft all the way around twice and I don't see a marker ????? I did pull the inspection cover and I found a piece metal laying in the bell . Looks like it could have come from the flywheel but..... The flywheel is just soooooo expensive I want to be sure .
