But we needed another wagon when the trusty Honda passed 250k (still strong, tight and reliable). Last year I began stalking a 2000 E39 Touring with low miles, but it took me a while to get my head around the auto box. What a different machine from the E36. Maybe the auto suits it.
I've put over 25k on it in the past year heading back and forth over the Cascades and now my heater won't get warm water and the over-engineered radiator hose fitting is leaking. I'd hoped the E39 was before BMW had lost it's way and sold it's soul to fashion, but I'm beginning to wonder. Nice car, but seems flimsy compared to my '72 R60/5 (bike) or my '95 Accord. Anyway-time to shop for parts...
