a 92 325i in incredible shape! i've been reading quite a few articles and i'm looking forward to getting to know the vehicle

i'll be going through the e36 faq and checking all the typical wear points over the next few days, i'll probably post a few pics when i do. I plan on having a little bit of fun with the car so I plan on being a regular poster here

welcome aboard! I am a 92 bimmer owner as well, although mine is the rare old body style carried over in the convertibles. Alot of people didnt know they did that, but apparently they werent quite ready to switch everything over at once, so a hand full of 92 convertibles came out as e30's. Many of the parts are the same, in which case I would keep an eye on the spark plug wiring harness. They can malfunction with age, and kill performance, smooth idle, and most important, fuel economy. Other than that, I would say no worries man! if its been taken care of, and is going to be well treated in the future, the darn thing wont let you down. My cousin has a 90 325i with over 300,000 miles on it. He always kept services up on it, and didnt monkey with it, and its still humming arround every day. First try it starts every time.

Another tip is not to monkey with the car too much. Alot of guys do it to make the car look or sound cooler. Bottom line--> Those german scientists are alot smarter than us. Leave the engineering to them. They obviously know what they are doing, so lets just enjoy the car for what it is. And for pete's sake, please dont put a stupid fat "fart box" muffler/tail pipe on the thing.

Thanks for the tip on the plug harness, I will definitely be checking that out. The car has about 80k original miles on it, from Florida and imported to Canada (it's been here for a year or so). Looks real clean throughout, no accident history, drives straight and pulls pretty hard... a steal at $1500, and it passed safety and our emissions test here with no problems at all. And don't worry, no fart cans here, haha. I have a project car I'll be finishing up over the summer ( a turbo geo

) so if I get the urge to do anything crazy I'll focus on that.

well done! Thats a great deal. The easiest way to check the harness is just by feel. If the car is missing, or worse developes a hickup when you start it and it dies, its either the wiring harness or the pugs. 98% of the time the other 2% would be need for a tune up.
