Question Loving My E39.....

18 months ago I got my first bimmer. 2003 PremSport 530i. I bought it with 47k on it sight unseen, and Im in love with it. I have always heard about bimmers and enormous repair expense so I bought a 100k afterrmarket warranty.

I tinted the windows, only 35% looks great!! I installed a USA spec ipod adaptor, and I replaced the grill with a black one. I really dont have much more that I want to do so i am thrilled.

Well now I have 75k on her. Ive read some horror stories on these forums about how things start to fall apart. Yesterday I tried to open the moon roof, and It wouldnt vent, I could raise it with my hand but it wouldnt stay up, then same day I had a fog light go out, then some of the pixels on my radio display suddenly faded ( not to mention last week I broke a cup holder) Is there a time when things start to go south, I want to keep up with all the repairs as needed so I am not driving some nice car wannabe but Im afraid of getting snow balled.

Any thoughts?

everything you mention is small wear items and nothing to worry about.
bimmers need routine maintenance otherwise repairs do pile up in a hurry, read the e39 FAQ thread for loads of good info.
