New Here !! 2004 325 CI

Whats up !! Just wanted to stop by and say hi . I recently purchased a 2004 325CI , 12,000 miles , black with sand color leather, premium package, automatic , 17" factory oem rims , $22,000 . The car is a gem, 1 owner who was 75 yrs old . I had to put brand new tires on the car due to it sitting and the original ones being dry rotted . I think i did well on this card and needless to say, its my first bmw and i will never drive another type of car, im in love with my beemer !! HA HA !!

I would recommend you change the oil every 6k.

welcome to ub! cant wait to see your bimmer!

i would also recommend more frequent oil changes, and i would also change that gearbox and diff oil. its not really sealed ;)

the side mirror that folds down is pretty neat, my uncle has it on his E39 and was awesome!

Its not sealed? While the car was up on the rack i asked the Tech and SVC manager at the bmw dealership about this and they told me it cannot be changed ? How do i change it ???

^^^ its got a drain and fill plug just like any other tranny.

the reason that they dont change it is because they have this idea that its a "lifetime fill". this is utter garbage, and the lifetime of the tranny will be when it dies, which will be between 100k and 150k miles in some cases. that is premature. if you change the tranny oil like you normally should, it would last well into the 300k range.

if you wanna know why they do this, let me know. . .

+1.

The maintenance should be kept regardless of the lifetime fill philosophy. You should change the dif & tranny oil every 2 years depending on the mileage you will do; more frequently on a tracked car.
