Just bought my 1st BMW...
2004 X3 2.5i. I would never have considered a BMW except we bought the 16 year old a 1997 318ti with 166K miles. I was so impressed with the quality and performance that I traded my '02 Silverado Z71 for the X3. So far, I absolutely love it! The dealership is installing cruise control next week and we should be good to go.
Down the road, I'll probably look to trade up to the X5 4.4i. The great thing about driving a Bimmer is that there are less than 10 of them where I live so I get a lot of looks. I'll post pics as soon as I get a clear day (4" of snow last night).
A little about me--my life has changed dramatically in the last 2 years. In '06, I had facial reconstruction due to a congenital defect that I was supposed to "grow out of". Then in '07, I had a gastric bypass (down 150 lbs so far), and just for good measure, I married the love of my life. She did, however, come with 3 teenage girls (19, 18, 16 (Oh, the drama )). So, now I'm thin (sorta), good-looking (relatively speaking, of course), I'm happily married, AND I roll in a Bimmer. Life is very good!
hmm... just wondering how the "needforspeed" screen name fits with an X3... at that name I first thought you're driving an M5 or M3 lol
anyways, welcome to ub

You sure talk a lot of smack for someone who drives a "grocery-getter" station wagon.
hey, whoa there
I bet some people in the US would trade an X3 against a Touring like mine since they've never been sold in North America
What engine do you have? Maybe that'll justify the name
EDIT: considering you have a 2.5 in it, and I have my (old, but good nonetheless) 2.5 with only 22 horses less than yours, I dare say my car is sportier than yours weighing 400 kg/880 lbs less

Seriously, I'm really impressed with BMW in general. I'm so new to the club that I'm happy to just be driving a Bimmer. Later on, when I become jaded and blithe, I'll only be seen driving 750s or 760s. And if it doesn't have SONAR-guided parallel parking or a geothermal-heated hot tub in the trunk, then I won't even look twice at it.

I would pay a decent amount for a touring, the string is that you have to accommodate for the car to get here and at least into the us all legal without me having to do a thing except pick it up, of course we can work most of this into the price.
