Any advise on what to do first. I already have an appointment to get some paint and appolstry protectant put on.

Thanks!

Welcome to the family!

What type of mods/upgrades are you looking at? Since your car is brand new you'll have to check w/ the dealership to ensure what you're wanting to do won't void any warranties.

Thanks for the welcome! I probably will not perform any mods yet. I still want to get to know the car...the ride, the feel, the handling, etc. I'm pretty excited.

Welcome to ub.c. Congrats on the sweet ride. Lets see pics. Paint protection is smart to do.

Make sure you change the oil every 5-7000 miles. BMW will only change it every 15,000. That is stupid. Also, change your gearbox and diff fluid every 30,000 miles. BMW will refuse, but do it anyway. They have a lifetime fill. That is so dumb.

Welcome. If I may suggest, no mods... Just find out what ur car can do and become a pro at driving it. Don't waste the money on mods that won't give you real gains.

Here's an idea, find a twisty road near where you live. :)

Thanks for a the suggestions! I really like the idea about the twisty road...sounds like a fun weekend road trip to me! I have a question...Since this is a new vehicle (10 Miles) am I supposed to keep the RPMs low for the first few miles? The dealer never said anything.

I will post pics once the dealership details and presents the vehicle to us officially. We just drove it home last night; however, the dealer wants us to bring it in for detailing and vehicle presentation.

Typically, 1000 mi is the break-in period. So, easy accelerations and what not should be expected. Though, I'm no mechanic in this, and at the time of this posting, have never purchased a BRAND NEW car.

officially you are supposed to keep engine speed low in the first 500 to 1000 miles, but more importantly vary engine speed. dont run at a constant engine speed for a long time.

now there are some out there that have done testing and say that you get better performance and less wear if you run it hard during the break in. much controversy over that. . .

OT: wtf happened to my sig?

Ahh Ok, That was the answer I was looking for. Thank you for the information. I've heard something about wanting to seat /condition the valves so they aren't limited in their mechanical travel...?

CC, welcome to the club. Like you, I'm a new BMW driver. Well, a new/old BMW driver but the thrill and experience of driving this machine is the same; impressive acceleration, takes curves without a bounce, brakes that can stop a swat team. Nobody told me it would be this good.

Happy motoring to you!

Curtis, first... welcome. Second, tell us more about the car! Is is a proper manual, an auto, what color, is it just the sport package or do you have anything else added on? Sorry for the lot of questions, I just love when people get new cars.
