Looks like a lot of fun. Your car owners manuel will have the exact information on the break in period. I know for the 2007 rabbit I just purchased speed was supposed to be varied for the first 1000 miles, not to take it over 4,000 rpms and to vary the speed (i.e. no cruise for a while) it is also not a bad idea to have an oil change done after about 1000 miles. The dealer I bought my VW from gives a complimentary oil change after 1000 miles to get anything left (metal shavings) from the making of the engine. Happy motoring and you picked a sweet ride.

Cool pics, looks like a fun ride, and I must say that the e90s do look great from straight ahead (the low camera pic). And thank god its a stick!
