London wins 2012 Olympics
It was announced this morning at around 7:50am (EST), in Singapore, that London, UK has won the Olympic Bid to host the 2012 Olympics. http://nytimes.com/2005/07/06/sports...rtner=homepage For those following the vote, it was a HUGE upset win for the English. Paris was the front runner for much of the process and was favored to win since it has failed twice, since 1992, in its bids to land the Summer Olympics. Moscow was eliminated on the first round of balloting, garnering only 15 votes. New York was eliminated on the second round of balloting, getting only 16 votes. Madrid was eliminated on the third round of balloting, mustering only 31 votes. London won in a close vote, 54-50 over Paris. People's thoughts? I'll def go to London to see the Olympics. Love the city. Although it would have been nice to have them in NYC.

IMO i could care less where it is. im sure its nice to go there and watch but besides that i dont get into the olympics at all. dont mean to offend anyone just sharing my thoughts

Same here, who cares???? Hopefully I will be living elsewhere by then anyway - Would like to move to the states,canada or Barbados. Fuck the UK and all the bastard immigrants and single mothers within her, high taxation, stealth taxation, bleeding heart fucking liberals, Europe/eec, euro army, euro currency. Just fuck this fucking country.
