DVD Burner?

:lol ok, am looking for a new cd/dvd burner am still running the one that came of from my HP computer when I purchased it like 5 years ago, so needless to say the ubber computer that I have now is begging me for a newer burner.... I narrowed it down to one of these two...

A) Plextor PX-716AL/SW

or

B) Plextor PX-755SA

What do ya think, Am thinking choice A, but I don't know jack about these things?

I like the Plextor stuff. I've had more than one of their drives...

Seems expensive? Mine was around $70. I think it's a Sony, works well.

Edit: You're looking at internal, mine's external, that probably makes a difference.

Rooz, you have a ton of toys. Every week you are looking for some new gadgets :).

No difference . . only that yours was installed in an external case ;)

Rooz, Plextors are da bomb, but there really isn't any need to buy them; you're really just paying for the name. IMO Pioneer is just as reliable and a little cheaper.

These have been around for a while, so they are really cheap. When I just built my computer, there were still ranked number 1.... I think at Tom's Hardware (reputable computer site who do benchmarks ect..)

Works great for me. I love it.
I have around 100 burned COPIES of my dvds.... No issues

MY dad's burner sounds like a freaking honda on crack every time you try to burn a disk and by the reviews it seemed that the Plextor's were VERY quiet. Plus figured if am gonna buy one, might as well buy the best I can get for a fair amount of money :dunno

NEC is very high quality. It doesn't sound like a nascar.... Dude... if you are thinking about buying a 150 dollar dvd burner.... at least try out the 30 dollar one.... it is not walmart quality...i promise you that. i recommend trying it out

I agree the NEC burners have always treated me well. I did have some problems with benq, but NEC is rock solid.
