Finally got a new keyboard
 

Well actually, jsut A keyboard.

before i used my laptop keyboard with an extra screen so i was running two screens. but that made the computer run extremely hot when i was playing games or multi tasking (we're tlaking like four or five broswer windows plus iTunes and usuually ichat or another chat program.

but now that i have this new keyboard and got my mouse replaced a while back, I now run one 21" screen with the external input devices. the computer runs so much cooler now. its nice :)

i got the standard apple keyboard.

i thought about getting the bluetooth, but decided against it because i didn't like how hot the computer ran when i was using bluetototh with other devices (mouse and phone sync-ing) so i just got the wired one.

I love how it sounds and feels when I type on it, as opposexd to the loud clicking of your standard windows keyboard. not to mention the nice clean look.

you have a mac, right? and it overheats? cant you just get a few nicer fans for it or is it totally different from a PC in that you cant touch it?

Only some of the first Intel dual core Macbook/Macbook Pros had heat issues which are resolved.

I have a powerbook laptop and i don't dare attempt to replace those fans.

disclaimer to anyone trashing on macs: it only overheats because it gets used pretty heavily for 7-8 hours a day, and most of that time, its running high res graphics and video


It used to run hotter when i wasa runnig bluetooth connection with my phone and my roomates mouse by about 3 degrees Farenheit all around when i was also rnning graphics/video and I didn't want to put that kind of load on it with a bluetooth mouse, phone and keyboard. in addition to multi tasking, on top of running the 12" laptop screen, the laptop is simultaneously supporting a 21" flat screen monitor. Thats a large part of it i would imagine. as they aren't mirrored. I run a dvd n one creen and work on another.

i like how when you move from one hobby to the next, ur sig and avatar change with it.

what happend to the marines?

Marines went out the window when my doctor wouldn't write me a waiver letter for having ADHD.

that blows, i just had to send all my medical records to the AF, so i can get my medical ceritfication for AFROTC....

im pretty sure ill get certified..hopefully

APPLE keyboard FTW. I have the 12" powerbook with the 20" cinema dual display as well. I run the bluetooth keyboard and mouse and absolutely love it. I don't have overheating issues though since I never really do hard graphics or anything of the sort. When I was in the dorms I could be around 10 rooms down and still change the music on my iTunes with the keyboard. It was awesome.

Cool Keyboard, I love mine with my imac. Which i might sell soon if anyone is intereted. I think I will get a display and keyboard for my new macbook.
