Help me with this Pop-up, please...

I went to the multimedia section and clicked on the VLC downloader. After installation, I got this nasty-ass pop-up thing that I can't get rid of. I've tried Ad-aware and AOL's shitty "security center" and this shit is still here....

Aside from the occasional ad pop-up, I get this annoying message in my desktop:



Damnit, it's in the system tool tray... wtf?

Please tell me how I can get rid of this shit... it pops up every few seconds, like some sort of alert... ie, when you stick in your flash drive...

Then I get this too....

Also I assume your Ad-Aware is the latest version with updated definations?

Spybot... hmm, I think I've had that before, but it wasn't up to par... unless I'm thinking of a different program. I don't know if anything can really get rid of this.....

do you have service pack 2 on your computer? looks like you have the messenger service running still. . .

then download hijack this:

run a scan with it, then post the log on computerforum.com under security. that site is here:

if you dont want to create an account, PM me your log, and i will post it for you

prior to doing all that, make sure that you update and run scans with adaware and spybot like previously mentioned.

This will help you stop the process that keeps putting it back, when it is dead run ad-aware and it will delete the files or you can delete it manually. I just helped someone through it yesterday.

i got the same exact thing last week dough. Download spyware doctor and get a hacked seriel. Run it and it willg et rid of it.

Took me like 4 days to figure it out. Also norton wouldnt even take it off.

Might try microsoft a friend of mine told me they have a spyware beta program and my roommate runs it and it really cleans shit up well.
