strange clicking noise coming from powerbook display.
so when i have my powerbook open and i tilt the display up and down i hear a stange clicking sound (its actually quite annoying) coming from inside the display from the left side at about the height of where the bezel thickens about 1/2" down from the top of the display and about 1/8" inside the display. anyone have ANY idea what this soudn is and how much its going to cost me to get fixed?

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

No idea about that one. At first I was going to say that it could be a loose cooling fan, or the blades on the fan are rubbing, but I don't think there is a cooling fan in the monitor.

The only thing I can think of is the switch for sleep mode, but those are usually mercury switches with no moving parts. I've taken apart half a dozen or so laptop LCD screens and have never seen anything in them that would make noise

its not like an uncontrolled clicking. it clicks when i move the monitor. it feels like something cracked and is flexxing at the fault. apple won't fix it because its not performance related.

o, then it sounds exactly like you said. since apple wont fix it, i would prolly just find out where the noise is coming from, and then when i open it, hold below the point of the break. . . i wouldnt pay to get that fixed.
alternatively, u can open up the display, and maybe brace it. i took the bezel off my toshiba laptop before with no problems. on an apple tho, it may be a little more difficult. (like opening up the mac mini or ipod. . .)
