Burning from a CD

My dad wants me to complile two CD's into one using select songs. The CD's that he gave me were burned from another CD. So when I use explore to access the files, I get 1KB tracks. Now of course I know they aren't the actual files, more like pointers, but I just don't remember how to access the real files. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Dough

Do you have Roxio CD burner? I think you can compile a track list off each CD. Then make a single track list of the songs you wanna burn to a blank CD

Nope, got Nero 7

witeshark 04-09-2006 10:23 PM

Are you able to see the CDs through Nero?

doughboyea 04-09-2006 10:34 PM

I'm trying to see if I can....

ummm, damn, this blows, i can't do shit with it. I can open the program: Nero 7 Premium. But, i try to drag from the Cd window to the Nero window and nothing happens.

How annoying. I could pop the CD in and iTunes will come on and show me the track list. A custom CD with selected tracks from the 2 CDs would have been burned by now. Know anyone with a Mac?

Umm, no, I couldn't afford that MAC I wanted, so I got this Dell XPS instead. But, are there other software titles I could use instead of nero?

My old PC had Roxio and I had no trouble with that

What version of windows are you using? XP has built-in cd burning, but I'm thinking that might be for data cds only.

Actually, I hate to admit it, but itunes does a good job. At www.itunes.com you can download it for free, and it's very easy to make music CDs... literally drag and drop, then click burn. :dunno

Damn Komodo, this Ipod shit really does the trick. It's "burning" the tracks to my hard drive. I know you mentioned it as well Whiteshark, but I wasn't aware it was a PC program.. what do I know, I'm just a total n00b in this.

Thanks guys

Yeah, I have to give the trophy to apple for music.... as much as it pains me :lol

I love iTunes... try that like Harry said.. That is weird though, there has to be something wrong with the CD. Any software should work. Nero is supposed to be the all around best burning sotware. iTunes is way easy though.

You could go into your CD/DVD drive and manually pick out the songs and drag them to the CD drive...and burn them.

Right, but iTunes does the same just as well.

nere should work fine, I use that, or itunes.
