Digital Camera/Camcorder

Still looking for a nice camera/camcorder

key features I need...

SIZE - small
Zoom - a real zoom, not just a digital one
Motion shots - need to take good motion shots
Camcorder - Will be using this to reocrd car vids :rock
Decent size screen - need a big screen, lol
Flash - Got to be able to take night shots :D

So far I like this one...

Canon PowerShot 7.1-Megapixel Digital ELPH Camera

But then agian I dunno too much about these things, any comments would be apreciated

Very nice. Although bigger screens use more power

craig 02-14-2006 09:41 AM

whats your price range?

Rooz 02-14-2006 09:42 AM

I dunno no more than ~$500

But I mean, if value is justified, I don't mind going a little higher...

what I hate is camera take lousy video and video cameras take lousy shots.

personally I use a canon powershot s1/s2 or the a310 and I'm happy with all of them the video isn't as good as one would like but it's not bad either. size isn't too bad but I think you are trying to go smaller.

My understanding is nikon does better with motion shots. I hope my rambling helps.

In that case, pics are more important...

well if you are doing motion shots, you want a faster camera. but anything 5 mp or better should do as far as resolution. the Canon Powershots are slow. I would look at some of the nikon's.

What do I need to look for as far as "speed"?

jms 02-15-2006 12:48 PM

I honestly don't know what they call it, but you will want either a burst mode which fires off a bunch of pics quick or a continous mode which keeps taking pics. Best bet is to go to the store and play with the models and see how you like them, if possible take some pics with them (you may have to bring your own media)

I am not too sure if that's the right model number I wrote down for the panasonic (I have it written down at work)....

But on the spec the panasonic shows to be a tad bit higher....
