i want to listen to a stations internet broadcast

but windows media player tells me "Windows Media Player cannot perform the requested action at this time."

ok. jerk off microsoft. then i try the "web help" for this problem and it tells me

damn microsoft! anyway. anyone know how to fix it, or even try it and let me know if it works for them?

Well i'm sorry to see its a country station. I did however get it to work on my win xp machine at home. Do you have the latest version of windows media player?

yes newest player. and country is better than rap.

classic rocks good. i used to be a big clasic rock guy. but i moved more towards Ska, some punk, some others stuff.

Works fine for me. I know you probably already tried this but reboot.
If you have a firewall disable it, this includes things like norton security suite (or system works) zone alarm, or any other security program that filters on ports. If turning off the firewall works then you will need to make an exception for port 42440 tcp outbound.
I would try those first.

i did try rebooting, and reinstalling media player il try checking my norton thanks for the help

well, update. it randomly started working
