Any other nerds do web design here??
Hey guys, this might seem a little out of left field, but I'm going to give it a shot here first.
Okay, I've been rebuilding this stupid website from the ground-up with a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) web design software thing. Anyway, the freaking pages won't display right in Firefox. They're fine in IE, but Firefox is all junked up. I want the pages to all be centered, not some centered and some smashed on the left side of the page. I'm no good at HTML so I can't figure out what I need to do to fix it. Here's the site: Omega Sigma, a jacked up site. If you click through the pages, you'll see they don't all match up. :( Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys! :wave |
lemme take a look at it...

try tables instead of div tags... div tags can get a little sketchy in different browsers unless you're pretty experienced.

Thanks, but how would I recode it to use tables? I'm seriously retarded when it comes to HTML.
|
hold on, let me show you...
|
wow, i used to back in the day, but i kinda grew out of HTML, im more of a java C++ guy(but not too hardcore unfortunately)
|
i used to work at a web development company until 2003 when i got deployed. never went back coz i realized i hated web design.
tables are pretty easy to do, and if using plain html4 its pretty much how pages are laid out these days (again, if not using server side technologies). if he doesnt show you, then I'll help ya out. what web design tool are you using? if you can get your hands on it, try using Dreamweaver, even an older version. its pretty kick ass. i know there are also free tools that can easily create tables, but their names escape me at the moment. |

take a look at the code for that page, i edited the links and the title... and put the whole thing inside of a table that centers it horizontally. just use that one as a template for all your other pages. any questions lemme know. ps. there were (still are) a bunch of un-needed <big></big> and <small></small> tags in there as well. |
Yeah, I don't know where those things came from or the &nsbp things either, but whatever it works for now.
Thanks a bunch, I'll see if I can't figure it out! |
yeah, lemme know if there are any other probs.
