i am currently installing a turbo kit on my 87 325IS. the motor is completely stock. The turbo has a 8psi waste gate. what, if anything, will i need to do to the comuter and fuel injection for this to work properly?

you will need larger injectors a larger air intake/mass sensor as well as computer software to make it a reliable go.

I figured it would need the bigger injectors. I assume the software upgrade will need to be done by a shop? will it not work at all without these upgrades?

unless you have software equipment and most of all the actual knowledge i suggest you hire a reputable shop to perform the task for you.
since the ecu controls air/spark/fuel it must be reprogrammed, the larger injectors are useless without the ecu sending more fuel etc.
software is a must to have the car run properly be reliable and prevent catastrophic damage to the engine.
