What do u think about it

I have a 1989 325i turbo. The Problem is that it's very sluggish from the start until I get to 3500, or 4000 RPMs. Now if I go through the gears manually it picks up earlier. My car is an automatic sorry. My specs say 4.6 sec 0-60 and I am close but not there. My other problem is that my gas mileage is 22 mpg at best on highway not gasing it. Specs say should be 25 mpg. This is a little about what I have done to car in last 8 months Timing Chain, Water Pump, Fuel pump, Fuel Filter, Ignition Coil, Battery, Distributor + Rotar, Plugs, Wires, Throttle Switch. So if you can help I need it. Have one more problem but one at time right HAAhAAhAAAhAAAhAAAAhAAAAAhAAAAA

Sounds like your rear axle needs higher gear ratio like 3.80 or higher, but that will kill your gas mpg. That's my 2 cents?

If you've got a turbo that can get you 0-60 in under 5 seconds, then 22mpg is actually decent. I suggest you forget about getting more than that. Anything above what you're getting now is actually a bonus.

Also, the sluggishness may just be the factory power that you're experiencing compared to the turbo that kicks in after that RPM range. If you were to sit in a non-turbo car, it would be easy to call it underpowered because you're used to the turbo's extra kick. Has it always been "sluggish" below 4000 or have you not owned it long enough to tell?

OK think I figured it out. The air mass meter malfunctioned. Also is the reason would cut out going down the road. I took the meter apart, even though not suppose to and to my suprise it's a computer driven intake. So figured out the metal prongs weren't touching the computer curcuit board and bingo all is well in bimmer town. As for 320de46m47 any time you want a demonstration of the car Drop a line buddy. Will watch for ya in my rear view.
