The New BMWs are awesome looking but really these cars have absolutey NO personality...
I mean my E36 can sit in my driveway and I can look at it for hours (or the E39 and E38)...but I really don't think I would ever do that if I had an E90 or E65 in my driveway...
Yeah because it wouldn't have any problems so I would always be driving it! That's why i don't drive my car all the time lol, recently it got some problems all at once.
Meh, the newer BMW's get the less sporty and more luxurious. That's why the E36 will always be known as the sportiest and the most, "enthusiasts" car. It started with the E46, they got real heavy so they're slow, and they are a lot boxier so they can't handle as well. Just getting worse with the E90...
The E36 is a less sporty and heavier E30. The E30 is a less sporty and heavier E21. The E21 is a less sporty and heavier '02.
I very much doubt enthusiasts would pick the E36 given all of the 3-series models.

my neighbor has a new E90 325, I love it. I don't think that it doesn't hae a personality, its just that the newer BMW's have a DIFFERENT Personality. and whether YOU like it or not, the E60 the E90 and the new 7's are sellling like wildfire, so they must have done something right...

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

i would, i would take an E36 any day. or a nice E30 like yours man (exept not a 4cyl). The E36 is a nice car, handles well looks great. The E46 is pretty nice to. The E90's are to new for my full appreciation yet, but in time il love em as much as an E46, but i still choose the E36 over anything, followed closly by the E30

Hey Chill on the 4Cyl E30, i love it, sure a 325is might be faster, but the 318is is still a ton of fun to drive, afterall it is still the ultamate driving machine. My vote is with the e30 lookswise but thats a given, i also did really like the looks of the e46 especially the m3. I'm not crazy about the looks of the e90, but i want to see it in coupe form, but i have no doubt that it would still be a very nice car to drive, everything I have read about it says it can still handle.
this died down. The more i see them(e90) the more i like them. We jsut have to grow into it i guess. I would still rather have my E30 318 over a newer one though..even over my moms E46 2001 330.
Theres something about the e30...they are fucking amazing..lol.
yea my 4cyl kicks ass..I pwn the noobs..lol.

The e90 is growing on me, but it will never have the appeal (to me at least) that the e30 and e36 have. I would take my car over an e46 r e90 325i anyday of the week.
rant coming on sorry...
They should be making these cars SMALLER, not LARGER. They do this because they want more luxurious interiors and more electronic gadgets that no one fucking needs.
What they should be doing is using that magnesium engine to further the lightness of the car, instead of using it to make up for the heaviness of the fat pig e90.
Look at the car market today.. more than ever there is a booming industry in the compact, extremely sporty, and fast market place.. BMW should take advantage of this and build a car that is small, has unbeleivable handling, and is powerful, not cater to the needs of soccer moms buying automatic bimmers.
People may lay claim to the argument that there is a large market place in the soccer mom consumer area, and that may be true, but as is easily seen there is an even bigger consumer standing in the small and sport scene.. look at the WRX, STI, EVO.. i mean i must see 20 wrx's a day, because they are nice cars that are fun to drive. Obviously price plays a role here, but your not telling me a new bmw equivlent in speed and handling to the e36 M3 - could easily be much faster than the E36 M3, the technology is here NOW for that to happen (The new 330 makes what 260 HP?(AND has a lighter engine but isnt even as fast as an e36 M3 because its a fat piggy)) - wouldnt sell like crazy?
They have the means to build a great performance car at a reasonable price, but they choose not to.. the e36 M3 is almost 11 years old now, and still out ranks bmw's best performance car in the 35-45k range. Thats ridiculous. BMW could be building JAW dropping affordable performance cars that would be selling like crazy.. but they choose not to because they want to sell to rich old ladies instead of 20-40 year old dudes.

end rant......
i agree...except ..BMW has the 1 series..i read a short about BMW wanting to put a 3.0ltr in the new 1 series...theres your small sporty car with amazing handling. Maybe BMW is just trying somethign else for a little..they will come back around. yea 1 series..they want to bring it to the US..so that might be why the 3 is getting bigger.

yea the 1 series is going to be really sweet, but a fat ass luxury sedan is what the 5 series is for.. not the 3 series.

What about the M roadsters and coupes? Ive heard rumors of M4's (Z4's made into M cars)
How small do you really need to get? The 3 series are not made for extreme performance, were the E46's? Were the E36's? No, thats why they offered a M car for the more sport inthuseist. The 3 series is a bottom of the line no matter how you look at it. Compair it to a honda, or how about a mazda. The 3 performs better then any of them, but there is a price tag for the performance. I sorta lost track on what I was talking about so Im just gona say that the E90's are way to computer controled and they have going to be in the shop more then on the road. Thats my perdiction.
