Question 330ci Bent Valves Need advice

My 2002 330Ci with only 23000 miles ended up with bent exuast valves, The dealership will not cover the damage under waranty , They said the damage was due over REV, Which was not n my case,
This car had recenty was giving problems with the check engine coming on and the car would run with low power and would shake, When turning the car off and restarting the problem would clear up, for few days, and would start playing up time to time.
The BMW manufacture Screwing me and wants $5500 to repair this.

Is this my fault or a faulty engine, What should i do now.

maybe it isnt your valves? its actually pretty hard to tell if the valves are bad, but i would recommend doing a leakdown test(s) on all cylinders, BMW says 5-8% is acceptable

I cannot think of any way valves could be bent besides an over-rev.

You lend the car to anyone recently?
