E46 330ci Bent Valves

Does any one know how my 330ci ended up with bent valves, Bmw dealers will not cover the damage under warranty, they blame the damage to over Rev, Which was not the case with me,recently the check engine light would come on and the car would shake and loose power. If i turn the ignition of and restart the car. The Fault would clear and the car would run fine. for few days, than the fault will come back.
