Mmm great.

Okay so yeah, I take a look at my trunk and the three is missing from my badge. Great. There are marks around it, I think someone took it off with a flat head screw driver. :angry I hate. People.

Just debadge it and you won't have to worry about "street urchins" (except the roundels) If you really want to be trick about it, have a really good pinstriper/sign painter paint on your roundels.

xsperf 08-27-2006 05:32 PM

OUCH, so he scratched your paint, huh? that really sux dude

celsdogg 08-28-2006 12:14 PM

bastids. why would they take that?

Chris 08-28-2006 12:43 PM

for their honda M3.33 Type R GT-R

RSF5 08-28-2006 06:32 PM

^^^ yeah and I was just going to debadge it, but lo and behold the numbers were on their with some type of glue not adhesive. Wtf. So the spot they were in looks TERRIBLE I'm going to have to respray the entire trunk if I want it too look normal maybe. Shit.

On a good note I put sprayed adhesive onto my C-Pillars and glued the fabric back down so they don't look like shit.

RealBmw 02 08-28-2006 07:10 PM

Try some goo gone to get rid of the adhesive. I used that on my friends E30. Probably not the same stuff as on the E46, but worth a try

RSF5 08-29-2006 08:39 AM

^^^ I did, and I used an adhesive remover and a buffing compound. It didn't even scratch it. I can't think of anything else to do but like take steel wool to it. But that would do wonders for the paint.

Dudesky 08-29-2006 09:07 AM

Did you try a heat gun to soften it?

RSF5 08-29-2006 11:25 AM

^^^ No I'll try that.

mullethunter3 08-29-2006 04:51 PM

heat gun, adhesive remover, heat gun, ps-15, zymol cleaner wax ???

RSF5 08-29-2006 04:55 PM

This shit looks like someone superglued the letters to the car. I'm not seeing anyway to get this off besides removing everything under it, its only a spot about 5" by 2" inches, but the paint in that spot is totally shot.

RealBmw 02 08-29-2006 05:39 PM

pics???

TJsBimm 08-29-2006 06:26 PM

That sucks man....did you try to polish the paint to get it lookin better. Colour matching can suck if the paint is hard to match.
