Reservoir doesn't.

Not long after I got my Precioussss, the windshield fluid indicator came on. I thought "How unlike them to not fill the reservoir on a
'certified pre-owned.' " So I fills it up, and two days later it's low again. Dealer say's bring it in and they'll fix it for free. That wouldn't be such a bad deal if they gave me an M6 for a loaner. Anybody else got a hole in their bucket?

I've seen that before on an e46 coupe, and a sensor gone bad in an e46 M3.

Rarely talked about, but yes, it can happen.

in my old E30 the resevoir developed a crack. i fixed it with epoxy and it was good to go until i lost her.

the dealer should just replace it tho.

BMWLotAttendant, it seems that it does have a hole in it, b/c if it was the sensor, it wouldnt turn off after he filled it up

Garantee its the rubber o-ring that the pump mounts to. It could also be the pump, Ive replaced them along with the washer.
If you open your hood and you have headlight washers check the small resivor thats mounted to the strut tower on the right side. If you see dryed blue fluid thats run down it that also more then likely leaks or will start.

Thanks Antiburn, that's exactly what I saw. No wet spots under the car, just some dried blue deposits. The guy at the service dept. said as much but they want to fix it themselves rather than give me an o-ring. Oh well, I'll just set up an appointment and drive a loaner for half a day. Break my heart! Please don't throw me in the briar patch! Don't make me drive another BMW! AARRGH!

Don't know, I'll find out this afternoon. Maybe it'll be an M5 or a 745il
(NOT!) Anything but an X. Actually, a Mini would be the perfect loaner car; I could drive the shit out of it, use very little gas, not worry about the tires, shocks, and bushings. Hell, I'd take the rest of the day off and go to Talahina drive.....
