Fan problems

Hey guys. Started having a frustrating problem this morning when I went out. When I turn the car off, the fan inside the car won't shut off. I've tried playing around with turning off the fan with the car on and I can't even do that. Engine temp reads dead center.

All the local shops that I trust are closed on Saturdays. Any ideas on if this is going to shut off on it's own (without killing the battery?) Also any thoughts on pulling the fuse if it doesn't shut off?

I've got a solar charger plugged into it now but that'll only delay the inevitable if the fan doesn't shut off.

BTW, it's a 2000 232i.

Is the A/C switched off? In my car, the fan to 0 will not work if the A/C is on to keep it from freezing. In my mom's car fan to 0 turns the A/C off instead.

I was able to turn the A/C off but that didn't help at all. In the end I pulled the fuse, put it back in and the fan stopped acting up. I'm just worried this is some electrical gremlin.

More then likely its your blower resistor. Its right infront of your blower fan under the dash. Accessable from the passanger foor well. They go for around 30$ and really dont take that long to install. They go bad all the time in E39's. Ive only replaced 2 in E46's.

Thanks I'll replace that and hopefully it'll solve the problem :)
