Kumho Burn???
I know that Kumho's tend to wear quickly but
I ran my 18's with Kumho Ecsta MX's on my old 323 last summer and when I took the wheels off, the rear left tire was worn completely down to the belt. That was the only wheel that was like that so I suspected possible rubbing as the cause.
However, I replaced the tire and put them on my 330 a few months ago. To my surprise, the rear left tire is completely burned down to the belt again. I'm sick of these tires and I'm not buying 4 more of a different kind, so I am putting my 17's with Conti's back on for good.
I don't know what that could be, but that doesn't sound like the tire to me. My Kumho ECSTA 711's have gone through about 8k miles with no signs of abnormal or excessive wear. They have sort of a bad rap, but they're not that bad
BUt i agree Kumho sucks. Had them on, lasted like 6k miles....heh.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

Your Ride: 1998 m3 coupe :-D
i love the kumho mx's. i had them on the 328is and they were great tires for the price. as for wear, the insides of the rears were kinda low on tread, but i think thats because of the camber and road crowns. i just bought 4 more for the m3 and they should be here on wednesday. what was your tire pressure in the back???

^^^ I don't remember what my pressure was but I have come to the only conlusion that one of my wheels was bent. I'm stripping off the tires and selling the rims alone on ebay. I also have 3 "like new" Kumho Ecsta MX's 225x40x18 if anyone is interested. You don't want these rims but the tires are still good.
