Welcome!

I'm sorry I really have no idea, but are you sure its comming from the wheel well? Have you checked the other things in that area. Within the well, how's the wheel? Is it worn? Is the rim bent? Is the paneling inside the well loose? What does the knocking sound sound like exactly? Like metal on metal? Or is it more of a thump thump sound? How are your brakes? Rotors... pads... caliper...? do you have sport suspension? After market?

I'm no mechanic, I'm just trying to open this up incase anyone else knows of your situation.

Just incase you have something similar to what I've experienced... I have Dinan's Stage 1 suspension kit installed. When I'm going slow, making a turn, I hear a sound from my suspension that sounds like something is rubbing, though it's not a knocking sound.... Dealer told me that it's natural from the Dinan suspension components.

Check & make sure all your exhaust hangars are in place. If one is loose or missing the exhaust might rattle against a heat sheild or rub on driveshaft. Also if you jack up rear end of car, check the half shafts for play (could be rear bearing, etc)

thanks for the replys to my query everything around the wheel seems fine panels springs wheel itself all seem solid I've checked exaust and that also seems solid no play in it at all the sound is like a dull clicking as I turn right theres no sound if I go over humps or pot holes except the usual noise from suspension that seems fine do you think I should just go to dealer there very expensive in the uk but what the hell the cars worth it eh :-)

I'm guessing it's a rear CV joint. (they're covered by the rubber boots) They are a type of U-joint that spin & flex and when the load shifts on & off them (when worn) they'll make clicking noises. I'd have a qualified shop or the dealership take a look at them. They are not really cheap or easy to replace but don't let it go too long, if they break they'll coat you ALOT more $$$ and headaches
