Overheating.

ok we got a 330ci. 2001.

It overheated one day in gilroy(yea the garlic city) in 105 degree weather and the Ac on. It blew up the resovior. So we chaged the resovoir and the thermostat. Belts were also changed(dont think that matters)

so the car overheats with the Ac on when sitting in traffic. My idea is that the Auxilary Fan switch went out. Anyone know if this is right? also where is it. I cant find the part on Realoem.com.

so anyone got some help.

b4 u order it, check if it works or not, open ur hood, stare at the fan, looking right threw the grill and rev your engine(a lot) maybe until 4K, and if it doesnt start to spin then its out, ifit does, thats not ur problem

if the temp keeps rising while sitting in traffic, maybe u just need a high flow water pump

i had the same problem with my BMW, except my bmw has a v8 and i dont have an auxiliary fan on mine but it stays cool sitting in traffic at low rpms

kk ill look into that if the switch doesnt work

I ordered the switch...didnt check to see if it was working. Although i remeber last summer I could hear the cars fan when idling, unlike last time i drove it in the heat. so im guessing the switch went out.

What do you think of the 330i? I just drove one the other day with coilovers, exhaust, 18s and a chip. Tons of fun with some pep.

Good luck with the fix.
