Sport Seats

I recently have been looking around for a pair (or just driver's side) of OEM sport seats from an E46 with of course the same interior color as mine.

Now, I know their price from a dealer is HUGE. Something ~$2000? I came across this set on Ebay: E46 Sport Seats.

Starting bid is at $850 + $220 shipping. Damn, used and STILL $1000.
These are exactly what I'm looking for...

Dough

EDIT: But I cannot afford these, trying to find cheaper ones.

Hell no... I can't afford $1000+ for used seats. I found M3 seats from an E36 for $300.... not that I'm getting those either, just as a comparison. I think the price is ridiculous.

Yea, seems like it, with that fold down lever on the side. I don't think it matters, unless it'll bump the sedan's doors when closed.

So where else can I get my hands on a set for ALOT less than that Ebay listing?

You might want to worry about electrical connections hooking up right and those are seats for a coupe/convertable so the bolt patters might be different. Also be in mind about lumbar connections and the button by the black handle on the side of the seat. With 2 different options then your seats the wires in the connectors could be entirely different spots.

Antiburn, let me just make this clear. I cannot afford those seats... $1000 is just way to much for used seats. I'm trying to find cheaper ones... those are just examples I found on Ebay. It's not a matter of coupe vs sedan. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate responses just... finding out if they fit wasn't the intention of my initial post. Though thankyou for making me aware of that.

Rooz, I shall, tomorrow morning. But just so you know, it's the same as if it were an E36 we're talking about. The seats in an E36 M3 are slightly similar. With side bolstering and that leg extension. Just these are from a E46 99+ sport coupe.

If they are similar to e36 vaders then they should only fit with modification in a sedan.

Sometime bimmer forums classifieds has good deals.

hmm, the reason you're seeing those seats for 300 for the e36 are because they're just normal sport seats. they aren't the m3 sport seats.

you should look for m3 sport seats for your e46, they have memory built in.

No offense intended Dough, but I'm curious why you want to swap out for the sport seats? Seems like a lot of $ that could be better spent on another mod. I mean, your sedan is no racecar so where is the need for the sportseats?

Anything has to be better than these damn stock seats we get.. They are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever had in a car that I own.. I want the sports seats just so they'll 'hug' me more, and i don't slide all over the place (Just cause it's not an M, doesn't mean we don't inflict some G's as well!)

I'm on the same search, but pretty sure I am going aftermarket.. That, and I have manual seats, which makes finding sports seats even harder.. (Not even going to THINK about running wiring harnesses and crap..)

Just a thought. How about going to the junkyards? There are so many 3 series, you might be able to get one from a totalled car.

Also, in my g/f's turbo Beetle, sport seats hug my body so well... It does make a difference, and as Section_8 mentioned, just because I don't have a 3.2L under the hood, doesn't mean my 192hp engine can't take a sharp turn, I just want my ass to be able to sit in one spot. And no offense taken . Oh and yes, I KNOW that the sale above is ALOT of money. That's why I am NOT going to buy THOSE seats. I wanna spend alot less than that... ie, less than half of thier asking.

Well, these seats from Ebay are from a wreaked 3-series. I wouldn't mind doing that, only thing is, I don't know of any place around me like that.... with that large assortment of vehicles.

I don't want to go down that route. I want a seat that looks like it belongs in the car. Not some aftermarket looking thing that a ::cough: ricer would buy. No offense to anyone... just my honest opinion.
